  Shipping

Our trailers are shipped via truck line, and we help you make arrangements for residential delivery. We use custom made crates to protect the trailers and insure that they arrive in perfect condition.

  Swivel Safe coupler

We recommend the Swivel Safe, available as an option on our trailers. It connects the coupler to the tongue, and allows the coupler to freely rotate. This system allows better cornering and handling, as well as preventing trailer damage in the event of an accidental lay-down of the bike.

  Zero Bounce Suspension

ZZ Trailer utilizes an extremely effective coil over shock suspension, with a leading swing arm. It absorbs bumps so well that we call it the Zero Bounce suspension, and you can see it in action on our website at this link.

  Cargo Space

Our ZZ 2000LT model gives you about 15 cubic feet of cargo space. Just how much space is this? Well, you'll have no problem carrying suitcases, camping gear, extra helmets and riding gear, or just about anything else that you can't leave behind. The saddlebags on most touring bikes offer only a couple of cubic feet of space, so with a ZZ Trailer, you are increasing your storage capacity by up to 8 times!

  Paint System

ZZ Trailer utilizes an automotive grade paint on our trailer models. After the fiberglass body is gel coated, it is painted to match the stock motorcycle color of choice. This is followed with a clear coat to yield an extremely glossy, smooth and durable surface.

  Trailer Hitch

There are many aftermarket trailer hitches available. For riders of the BMW K1200LT, we sell the hitch pictured here: K1200LT HItch. These units are very well built and are ZZ Trailer's recommended hitch for this bike.

  Safety Considerations

Stopping Distance: A 200 lb. trailer with 150 lbs. of cargo adds 350 lbs. to your total weight and lengthens the time and distance that it takes to stop. Be sure to adjust your riding accordingly, allowing extra time and distance for slowing and stopping.

Passing: Due to the extra weight of the trailer, be sure to allow extra time and space for passing. The combination of trailer and tongue extend the length of your bike and should be considered when merging and passing.

Tire Maintenance: Be sure tires are inflated to the proper p.s.i. The recommended inflation pressure is approximately 30 p.s.i.

Check your hardware: Tighten all wheel lug nuts and make sure coupler is properly attached to hitch and trailer before any trip. Do not exceed recommended cargo capacity. Insure that all signal and brake lights are connected to your wiring harness and working properly. See your owner's manual for specific information.

  Required Maintenance

Make sure all hardware is tightened before a trip. Use a good quality automotive wax on the exterior of the trailer body.

Consult your owners manual for more detailed information about maintaining your trailer.

Viewing the video on Why Buy ZZ

There is a small video clip embedded on the lower left corner of the "Why Buy ZZ" page. It is 90K in size and should take 30 to 45 seconds to load and begin playing if you have a 28K dialup connection. It is set on "Loop" to repeat indefinitely, if you want to stop it hit the STOP (square) or PAUSE (||) button. To play in slow motion or backwards, use the slider button which is just below the video image.

The link below the movie loads a higher quality and larger clip of the same video which is 180K and will take a minute or two to load on a 28K dialup connection. Faster connections obviously should load in much less time. This should play in a separate window. For instructions on how to use the Windows Media Player, click on Help --> Help Topics. If you don't have the Media Player installed, you should be able to install it free of charge. It's available from Microsoft's web site and on your Windows operating system CD.
